The head and graffiti was discovered by a passer-by at around 9.30am on Thursday.

Payne appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday where he pleaded guilty to two charges of racially or religiously aggravated criminal damage and causing racially or religiously aggravated alarm, harassment or distress by words or writing.

Daniel Pietryka, prosecuting, said: “Payne had been in a pub in Clifton with other EDL members when he received a text message from a friend who had the pig’s head.

“It was brought to the pub in a bin liner.”

The court heard there are plans to build a mosque on the site in Collington Way, off Rugby Road.

Payne was arrested on Saturday and told police under interview that he was a member of the EDL who had responsibility for arranging meetings and events in Notts.

Mr Pietryka said Payne admitted writing the graffiti, but that he had wanted no other involvement in placing the pig’s head.

Robert Keeble, mitigating, said that while Payne did not play an active role in the final incident, he accepted he had taken possession of the head and been part of the group who travelled to the site with it.

He said: “Mr Payne accepts upon arrival he did use a can of spray paint to write the graffiti on the pavement. He says he did nothing else after that.

“He accepts that he received communication from another regarding the pig’s head and that he accepted the pig’s head when it was brought to the pub.

“He accepts that he knew what was going on and did nothing to prevent it.”

District Judge Morris Cooper warned Payne that “all sentencing options are open at this stage” before adjourning the case for a pre-sentence probation report.

He said: “You were involved in a course of conduct with others which involved the display of this pig’s head on a stake with grossly offensive comments written on it.”

Payne was granted bail despite police concerns about his involvement with the EDL.

The bail conditions include a curfew between 10pm and 5am, that he stays away from West Bridgford and doesn’t go within 200 metres of a mosque.

Payne also must not meet with other EDL members.

Payne is next due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on July 21.

Three other men are due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court today in connection with the incident.

I do wish the EDL the best of luck in this fight, as they surely need it. And I sincerely hope that the leaders will get the strength to squash the Nazis within, for they will destroy this movement if allowed to remain, and thus lose the fight against the Islamization of their countries. 

I do wish the EDL will totally fall apart without my unique vision, contacts and enthusiasm but it wont, well it will but probably because some ass hole from Teeside sets a mosque on Fire claiming several hundred victims after reading a EDL status update on facebook. Now it’s no longer in my interest to put up with, deny and cover the asses of the Nazis within I hope they get screwed good and proper and I am AVENGED (manic laugh) that would be so sweeeeeet. I would like to know why it took the EDL what? 6 months? to suss Roberta Moore was an extremist with an agenda independent of the EDL’s goals who continually placed the EDL in the spot light for all the wrong reasons. Don’t think for a moment Helen Gower, The EDL support group, or Tommy Robinson identified her poisonous filth and swiftly dealth with it, they negotiated round it in some half assed ignorance while we documented every last bit and pushed and pushed for this woman to be removed.

Because of exposers and the admin skills of @everythingedl we are able to present Roberta Moore a leaving gift. Six months worth of evidence to suggest she not only shouldn’t have been in the EDL, but she shouldn’t have even be allowed to remain in our country.

 Today the English Defence League are distributing images with instructions to supporters in the Lancaster area to ‘keep an eye out’ for those uploaded. One is some one who is not me and another is alleged to be a UAF supporter. When the EDL finally get banned they are going to have the neck to ask why….honestly. freaks.

The amount of times Stephen Lennon/Tommy Robinson/Paul Harris/Blue Mighty Morphin Power Ranger has dropped off the face of the planet in times of EDL melt down is just silly. Funnies aside, being at an EDL demo is just not cricket but attending one where two Asian men were viciously attacked by his own EDL supporters while walking down a street they live on is very dodgy. United Against Fascism have covered this sickening event with links to a short documentary. If you are under some illusion the EDL are contributing to society in any semblance of positivity you need to check this stuff out. While we look ahead to a summer of young men refusing to co-operate with police in facilitating peaceful protest and the Home Secretary failing to proscribe them, we predict this incident will be repeated up and down the country.
